Administration of Deceased Estates
The administration of a deceased estate is a procedure to give dignity to the financial affairs of a deceased person and to provide for the orderly administration and distribution of his estate. There are several steps to be taken when administering a deceased estate. The aforementioned steps include the reporting of the estate at the Master of the High Court, obtain the letters of executorship, notice to creditors, drafting of the liquidation and distribution account, finalising the estate by distribution of assets and eventually the discharge of the executor.
